Success Story

SV Eidelstedt Hamburg

How a Hamburg club completely outsourced its athletic training — and gained more time for tactics and game-form drills

“You can be the best dribbler in the world. But if you can't last 90 minutes, if you don't have the strength and stability, none of that helps you.”

— Leena Stahl, Athletic Coach

Running athletic training on the side without sacrificing pitch time — that was a long-standing unsolved problem for athletic coach Leena Stahl at SV Eidelstedt. With her digital assistant coach, she outsourced all individual athletic and fitness training without losing control over it. The result: more training time on the pitch for tactics and game-form drills — and still a clear view of every single player's workload in the squad.

Pillar · Organization

Everything in one place instead of paperwork

Before B42, individual athletic training meant a lot of manual work for Leena: logging performance-test results by hand, assigning workouts one by one, manually keeping track of 25 players. Today, performance tests, workout assignment and workload data all come together in the Co-Trainer Coach Zone. She sees at a glance who has trained and who is overloaded — and can intervene before workload turns into injury.

“Strength and stability affect duels and shots on goal, and massively boost your performance.” — Leena Stahl, Athletic Coach

Pillar · Motivation

Training participation that sustains itself

For SV Eidelstedt's board, the sense of community matters just as much as sporting development. Through the team's internal feedback culture and playful workout assignment, even players who wouldn't motivate themselves for extra training stay engaged — without Leena having to follow up individually every week.

“We simply want the boys to have fun together. To experience success, grow from setbacks, and realize how great it is to play football as a community.” — Christoph Hellmeier, Board Member

Pillar · Team Development

From guesswork to certainty

No improvement without a baseline. With performance tests, Leena knows every player's strengths and weaknesses in the squad — and can work on them with personalized workout assignments, instead of deciding by gut feeling in team training.

“With the players, we achieved results where they qualified for higher teams, built on their strengths, and reduced their weaknesses accordingly.” — Leena Stahl, Athletic Coach
